How the meet and greet works
Three moments, and not one of them asks anything of you. Gare du Nord is the busiest railway station in Europe — our job is to make sure you never notice.
We follow your train
Your train number is logged the day before. On the day itself we track it live and adjust the pickup time if the schedule moves. A Eurostar running an hour late changes nothing for you, and costs nothing extra.
A board with your name
Your chauffeur is in position before you arrive, in the hall, just past the platforms. He holds a name board and messages you his exact spot. You walk out, you see him. Nothing to search for, nobody to call.
Luggage and car
He takes your cases and walks you to the vehicle, parked a short distance away. You never cross the forecourt dragging bags, and you never negotiate a place in a queue.
Where we meet
Gare du Nord handles four very different flows, and they do not come out in the same place. The meeting point is set according to your train and confirmed by message the day before.
Eurostar from London
Passengers clear border controls and emerge into the Eurostar arrivals area on the eastern side of the station. That is where your chauffeur waits, board visible the moment you leave the arrivals corridor.
Brussels & Amsterdam
The former Thalys services have run under the Eurostar name since 2023, but without border controls: the exit is quicker and leads straight onto the main concourse. The meeting point therefore differs from the London trains.
TGV & mainline
Lille, Dunkirk, Arras, Valenciennes and the whole Hauts-de-France network arrive on the main platforms. We meet you at the end of the platform or in the hall, depending on how busy it is and what you prefer.
Or simply outside
If you would rather avoid the crowded concourse, your chauffeur waits on rue de Dunkerque, in front of the main façade. You receive a photo of the car and its exact position a few minutes before you arrive.

The wait
A Eurostar releases several hundred travellers at once, and the Gare du Nord rank is among the most congested in Paris. At peak times the queue regularly runs past thirty minutes — on your feet, with your luggage.
The fare
On a meter, a jam on the grands boulevards costs you money. Our rate is fixed and confirmed before you arrive: traffic, time of day and the number of suitcases do not move it by a single euro.
The luggage

From Gare du Nord
The connections we are asked for most, with realistic durations — Paris traffic included, not theoretical timings.
Paris 8th & centre
Fifteen to twenty-five minutes to the Champs-Élysées, Concorde, Opéra or Saint-Germain. This is the most common run, and the one where the difference with the taxi queue is felt most sharply.
Paris CDG
Thirty-five to forty-five minutes. A frequent connection for travellers arriving from London and flying long-haul the same day. See our CDG transfer page.
Orly & Le Bourget
Forty to fifty-five minutes to Orly, twenty to thirty to Le Bourget for a private aviation connection.
The palace hotels
Ritz, Crillon, Plaza Athénée, George V, Bristol: around twenty minutes, with a chauffeur used to the arrival protocols of these houses. See our palace transfers.
Other stations
Gare de Lyon, Montparnasse, Austerlitz: ten to twenty-five minutes depending on the destination. Useful when a TGV connection sends you across Paris with suitcases.
Disneyland Paris
Around forty-five minutes via the A4. A run British families ask for after arriving on a morning Eurostar — the V-Class is the obvious choice.
Departing for London
This is the direction where the clock genuinely matters. Since Brexit, Eurostar runs UK border checks before boarding, and the terminal closes well before the train leaves.
60 minutes minimum
Plan to be at the Eurostar terminal at least sixty minutes before departure, and ninety during busy periods — British school holidays, Friday evenings, Fashion Week. We work the pickup time backwards from your train, never the other way round.
Not just the station
From the 8th arrondissement, allow twenty minutes off-peak and up to forty at the end of the day. We always build in a margin and check the traffic on the morning itself: better to wait ten minutes at the station than to run across the forecourt.
At the terminal entrance
We drop you as close as possible to the Eurostar terminal entrance, not at the far end of the station. Your chauffeur lifts out your bags and points you to check-in. From car to border control is under two minutes on foot.

How much is a private chauffeur from Gare du Nord?
A transfer to a central Paris address is €90 in an E-Class (up to 3 passengers), €110 in a V-Class (up to 7 passengers) and €140 in an S-Class (1 to 2 passengers). The rate is fixed and confirmed before you arrive: no meter, no rush-hour surcharge, no luggage supplement. For an airport or another city, we quote within fifteen minutes.
Where exactly will my chauffeur be waiting?
In the arrivals hall, just past the platforms, holding a board with your name on it. There is nothing to look for: he is in position before your train pulls in and sends you a message with his exact spot. If you would rather meet outside, he waits on rue de Dunkerque, in front of the main façade.
What happens if my Eurostar is delayed?
Nothing on your side. We track your train live and shift the pickup time accordingly. Waiting is free for 60 minutes from the actual arrival time, which comfortably covers border checks and luggage collection. You are never charged for a delay that is not your doing.
Why not simply take a taxi outside?
Because the Gare du Nord taxi rank is one of the busiest in Paris. When a Eurostar arrives, several hundred passengers come out at once and the queue regularly exceeds thirty minutes at peak times — standing, with your bags. On top of that, a metered fare moves with the traffic, and you only discover the car when you reach the front.
Can you handle oversized luggage?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons Eurostar passengers call us: nobody travels light between London and Paris. The Mercedes V-Class takes seven passengers with their suitcases, or a smaller party with awkward items — golf bags, garment carriers, professional equipment. Your chauffeur loads and unloads everything himself.

Since Brexit, Eurostar runs UK border checks before boarding: plan to be at the terminal at least 60 minutes before departure, and 90 minutes during busy periods. Can we continue on to an airport or another station?
It is a common request, particularly to Paris CDG for a same-day long-haul connection. Allow 35 to 45 minutes to CDG, 40 to 55 to Orly, 20 to 30 to Le Bourget and around fifteen minutes to Gare de Lyon. These journeys are quoted separately, before you travel.
