The Four Seasons George V — emblematic Art Deco
Inaugurated on May 13, 1928 by the Lefranc brothers during an Art Deco effervescence period, the George V takes its name from the British king then reigning. The original building, designed by architects Constant Lefèvre and Maurice Picard, integrates all the innovations of the moment: panoramic dining room, inner courtyard, spectacular bay windows.
History pivoted at the Liberation: from August 25, 1944 to spring 1945, the George V became the headquarters of the Supreme Allied Command under Dwight D. Eisenhower. The future American president resided here for 8 months and organised the final strategy against Nazi Germany. His suite is today renamed "Eisenhower Suite".
Acquired by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in 1999, the palace underwent a 4-year renovation (1997-2001) led by American architect Pierre-Yves Rochon. Today, the George V counts 244 rooms and suites, three Michelin-starred restaurants, and the largest Parisian spa (720 sqm). Its visual signature: monumental floral compositions by Jeff Leatham, internationally renowned floral artistic director, renewed every Tuesday.
